The Big Jewel is in the business of writing humor. We publish a humor piece weekly, on this Web site, and we also do freelance work for various publications. We have some experience to apply to your business, and we find that The Big Jewel gives us a fun and unique outlet for our work. We’re glad you stopped by to check out our services. This first part of this page is designed to give you a very brief rundown on the type of services we offer, and how we like to operate.

TYPES OF SERVICES WE OFFER

Theme-based Writing
This is our most popular type of service, where your business gives us the nature of the content you would like, the length you’re looking for, a deadline, and other stipulations. For example, you could tell us you’re looking for an 800-word article about The Sopranos, by next Friday, and that the article must deal with the Internet in some way.

In this scenario, we usually let you know if we are willing and able to take the contract, quote a price, and then go from there. Generally, there is some back and forth until the type of article is formalized, and then another back and forth when the article itself is formalized.

Then the deal is done. We talk specifics, a paper or two are signed, and your company formally purchases the article. If you aren’t satisfied with the article then we give you your money back. That’s a real promise. The last thing we want is someone not happy with our work, because you’re our customer and, you guessed it, if you’re not happy, we’re not happy. Although, this doesn’t mean we’re necessarily sad if you’re sad. For instance, you could be sad that your favorite sports team lost, but they may have been beaten by our favorite sports team.

We license reprinting of our weekly online articles at TheBigJewel.com. Every case is slightly different, so contact us for details on this one.

Other Concepts
We’re in the business of humor writing only, and not generally that picky about who or what we write for. Other things may pop up, and we usually get excited about different types of offers. For instance, you may want us to write a portion of your company’s internal newsletter, or a memo to your daughter’s teacher explaining why her absence should be excused. You could just sit back one day on your self-made wooden deck, sip some hand-squeezed lemonade out of a new tumbler, and decide that you want us to write a short story about you and your spouse as a birthday present. Essentially, we’re simply saying that we’re open to other offers. Let’s just have fun with it.

HOW WE LIKE TO OPERATE

* Drop us an email and tell us about your business and your ideas. Include the subject and length of the article you’d like us to write.
* We will email you back and let you know if we are able to write the article, and give you an estimate on the cost of the article. Since we are new our prices are bargain-basement fantastic, if we do say so ourselves.
* We sign a contract which will dictate some terms of service.
* We will write the article and email it to you.
* You email us back with your feedback, and the process continues until you’re happy.
* We reach consensus on the article and the deal is done.

A Note on Cost
Because we are new and growing we are currently offering our work at very reasonable prices. We won’t put our prices on this page though, because that would get a little embarrassing. Also, we wouldn’t want to embarrass our competition, ho ho ho! Essentially, we know we’re new, so we’re currently undervaluing our services in order to get some more exposure. We’re doing this because we hope that you will like the work we produce and we will continue to work together in the future. Also, we enjoy writing, and working for you actually isn’t like work at all. It’s like grated joy, served on the cupcake of heaven.
